Day 1: marrakech – ait ben haddou – zagora

Embark on a captivating 3-day journey through the Sahara Desert, starting from Marrakech. The tour commences promptly at 8 o’clock in the morning, departing from your hotel or riad. We begin by ascending the majestic High Atlas mountains. Traversing the Tizi N-Tichka pass en route to Pasha Glaoui Telouet Kasbah. Our next destination is the renowned Ait Ben Haddou. Where we’ll traverse an ancient caravan trail and the picturesque Ounila valley. Adorned with charming Berber villages.

Following a delectable lunch break in Ouarzazate, we continue southward. Crossing the Tizi-n-Tinfifte pass to reach the captivating town of Agdez. Descending from the pass, you’ll be greeted by a breathtaking sight of a vast oasis adorned with countless palm trees, signaling the beginning of the awe-inspiring Dra’a Valley. Day 2: Zagora Desert – Tamgroute – M’hamid – Erg Chigaga

Our second day commences with a delicious breakfast, preparing us for the adventures ahead. We set off towards Tamgroute, where we’ll explore the Zaouia, an ancient Koranic library, as well as witness the craftsmanship of pottery makers and visit an undergrounded Kasbah.
Continuing our journey, we arrive at M’hamid, the gateway to the desert and the end of the paved road. As noon approaches, we’ll enjoy a barbecue meal in a serene oasis. Our path then leads us to the majestic Erg Chegaga dunes, rising 300 meters high. A 60-kilometer off-road drive takes us through diverse desert landscapes, including “erg” (dunes), “hammada” (stony desert), and oases.

These remote dunes are situated far from civilization, offering a profound sense of silence and an expansive sea of sand that is truly awe-inspiring. At Erg Chigaga, you’ll have the opportunity to embark on a memorable one-hour camel ride across the sand dunes. As the day draws to a close, we’ll indulge in a delectable dinner and retire for the night at the Sahra Relax Chigaga Camp. Immerse yourself in the tranquility and beauty of the desert as you rest in a private tent adorned with comfortable beds, exquisite Moroccan furniture, and candlelight to enhance the ambiance.

Day 3: Erg Chigaga – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Marrakech

On the final day of our desert adventure, we start with a hearty breakfast. Our route takes us westward, covering 90 kilometers of captivating desert landscapes. Prepare to be enthralled by the varying scenery, including the mirage-laden Lake Iriqui, striking mountains, fossil sites, and encounters with nomadic communities living in their traditional tents. Following the path of the iconic “Rally Paris Dakar,” we make our way to Foum Zguid, the first village after the desert, where the paved road awaits. Here, we’ll pause for a picnic lunch amidst a tranquil oasis. Continuing our journey, we’ll pass through Taznakht town and the charming village of Amerzgan. As the sun begins to set, we conclude our 3-day Sahara Desert tour at Marrakech.
